Aurora R12, what CPU's are compatible?
New to building, limited knowledge.
Hello, I have an Alienware Aurora R12 and was wondering about what CPU's I could use with it. I don't really understand how they work or the internals of computers yet. But anyways, the reason I want a new CPU is because of my switch to water cooling, and a new graphics card. Specifically this one. But the CPU I was wondering would work was This . I did some research to no luck so sorry for asking you guys. I will be using thermal paste. If you have any better ideas or recommendation for a CPU, I will gladly listen as I am trying to get the best one for me budget. (No where over 400 since I'm broke). Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
Here are my specs:
Ram: 32 gigs (4 slots x 8 gigs)
Graphics card: RTX 3080 TI
PSU: 850 watts (Fully modular)
CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5 11400F (6-Core, 12MB Cache, 2.6Ghz to 4.4GHz)
If you have any questions, I will be answering.

Hey Vanadiel, How do I know if one I picked out will be good enough for the graphics card.

There are different sites to check bottlenecks, but I tend to use this one the most: Bottleneck calculator
Just select the CPU, graphics card and your screen resolution, and it will show you how well it will run and if you have a bottleneck.
Do keep in mind that other factors will affect framerates, like memory speed, drive interface, thermals of the CPU, thermals of the GPU etc...
It's a bit system specific, but that site will provide a baseline on the components.

It seems that even with the best CPU on the Alienware list still results in 14% bottlenecking.

Depends on resolution and some other factors like memory transfer speed. Typically higher resolutions cause the bottleneck to shift to the GPU and away from the CPU.

Ok, last question. If I were to buy Something like this. Would there be any problems? I have a fear of buying things that won't work. And I'm not the brightest at this sort of stuff, so can you just confirm me buying this won't cause any problems?

That CPU should work. If your CPU is currently air cooled, an AIO CPU liquid cooler would be advised, and you would also need the VRM heatsinks, if not currently installed.

Ha! Now I just have more questions. I'm pretty confident in my ability to figure this out. If I need anything I'll just ask if that's ok.

Unfortunately 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors will not be supported on your R12. The i9-11900K would be your maximum supported CPU.
Validated OEM CPU =
KX53R i9-11900KF, 3.50GHz, 125W, 8C, 16MB
M5WW1 i9-11900K, 3.50GHz, 125W, 8C, 16MB
0RG88 i9-11900F, 2.50GHz, 65W, 8C, 16MB
X6R70 i9-11900, 2.50GHz, 65W, 8C, 16MB
3FCFJ i7-11700KF, 3.60GHz, 125W, 8C, 16MB
267V6 i7-11700K, 3.60GHz, 125W, 8C, 16MB
533FG i7-11700F, 2.50GHz, 65W, 8C, 16MB
4X3CY i7-11700, 2.50GHz, 65W, 8C, 16MB
7DPH1 i5-11600K, 3.90GHz, 125W, 6C, 12MB
7FCVW i5-11600KF, 3.90GHz, 125W, 6C, 12MB
D4X2Y i5-11400F, 2.60GHz, 65W, 6C, 12MB
