Aurora R12, RGB fan header?

I was thinking of installing DeepCool RF120 fans into my case swapped Aurora R12, but I've realized there's no RGB header on the motherboard. They say they support Razer Chroma RGB control, and was wondering if you could connect them and control them with the software instead of an RGB header.

I looked at page 3 of the manual for that fan. Looks like the PWM goes to the motherboard, and the +12V GRB to the SATA connector, with a controller in line with the SATA power connector.

So no RGB controller needed as it comes with the fan. You will need a spare SATA power connector.

Most of the aftermarket fans throw boot errors on these systems. Only a select few are known to work. Threads about fans are on this forum.

As for software, you need a supported header that adheres to a standard. Since these are OEM systems I doubt any RGB header, if there is even one, would confirm to any standard.

That fan looks like it has a cable controller that can be SATA powered, so perhaps no RGB mobo header required?

Thanks a lot! This saved lots of time of troubleshooting. Thanks!

I've heard that some fan hubs and stuff like that have sparked up the PSU. I'm wondering if that is a risk to the power supply or not.

If you make a proper, secure connection it should not be a problem. This does not resolve the aforementioned diagnostic startup error thrown by many non-Dell fans.
