@rhellstrom6e8920   you might try the EVGA CLC 120mm AIO, if you can find it. It looks very similar to the OEM Alienware unit. Looks like there is one at the BIG auction site reasonably priced

What CPU do you have . . . and yes, you will need the VRM heatsink.

@ProfessorW00d I'm just going with the original part to avoid any complications. Yes. I looked up the socket information, Thanks for pointing it out.

The only thing that was unclear was if I was going to need screws for the radiator. One review at Amazon noted that - It does not come with screws for the top radiator. I'm unsure of their size though. It's probably noted in the instructions.

Hopefully it will be a simple installation and thermal resolve.

@rhellstrom6e8920   wow . . . that is some price gouging there!!

The Asetek Alienware radiators use 6/32 size bolts. You will need 4 6/32 x 1/4" (6mm) to bolt the fan to the radiator. If you are doing a single fan install you will need 4 more 6/32 x 1/4" to bolt the radiator to the top of the cage. If you are doing a push/pull install with a 25mm top fan you will need 4 6/32 x 1-1/4" (30mm) to bolt the assembly to the top of the cage.

This is a good Tube Vid that shows an existing liquid cooled R11 being upgraded to push/pull configuration. It will show all of the steps you need for your installation.

Don't forget to get thermal paste and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the existing paste from your CPU. If you want to step it up . . . this stuff works good at removing thermal paste and conditioning your metal surfaces.

Also, if you are going to do push/pull fans you will need a PWM Y-splitter adapter cable.

RGB adds 20 fps @ 1080p.

To be fair, there are very few 120mm AIO coolers available these days. CPUs have gotten so hot everyone is moving to 240mm minimum (Alienware was last!). Corsair has discontinued their 120mm line, so this would be 'new old stock'.

@rhellstrom6e8920   that Corsair H60x should work as good as anything else available at this time. Consider doing a push/pull fan configuration . . . not that you need push/pull for a 27mm thick radiator, but it will improve the overall air flow regime inside your case. Also, consider getting some good quality thermal paste to use instead of the pre-applied thermal turd.

@ProfessorW00d I'm kind of rethinking using the H60X- The RGB lighting isn't needed and would only be adding to my thermal problems and I kind of hate the idea of having BIOS recognition problems. That isn't resolving anything. It could be just creating more problems.

On the other hand, the Deal4GO Asetek Water CPU Fan seems to be extremely price gouging the market at 166 dollars, but it seems that it may be the only sensible solution. Didn't Dell sell this upgrade for about a hundred dollars. I could get a used one for about 40 dollars, but I could really end up regretting that. Dell really stuck it to us here.

Is the cooler preloaded with liquid ? Do I need a VRM Heatsink - What size bolts do I need for the radiator? One review said they weren't included.

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700F @ 2.50GHz   2.50 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB
Nvidia RTX 3070
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I'll look it up. Of course, EVGA don't carry them anymore. As far as I can tell. The H60x won't be around much longer.

@rhellstrom6e8920  your CPU socket will be LGA1200. That linked eBay ad has mixed messages about what socket(s) it will fit, so get clarification from the seller before purchasing.

I've just had the system for a couple of years. I think Dell should still be mandated to sell and stock these CPU coolers since the R12 computers are all conditioned to thermal issues. If not, they should at least modify the bios for 3rd party markets. Very shady to say the least.

Thank you very much - I was just going to go out.
