Aurora R11, upgrade M.2 1TB to 2TB drive?

I would like to upgrade the M2 boot drive. I currently have a 1TB NVMe drive. Can I just swap it with a 2TB drive? Also I am going to get a PCI to M.2 adapter. I hear the Aurora R11 will only support a 1TB drive when doing this. Can a larger capacity drive be used?

You can do a clean install of Windows on your new 2TB M.2 SSD and then once you have a successful boot on that drive, put your current M.2 SSD in the PCIe adapter to collect and move any files you want on the primary boot drive (if any).

Validation was done for up to that capacity, but it can accept higher values.
