Aurora R10, motherboard swap?

Good day everyone.

i bought sometime ago and Alienware R10 Ryzen Edition knowing that the motherboard is bricked from the previous owner as he did the attempt on updating the bios, but somewhere along the way, it failed. i will attempt to flash it back to the factory setting explained on this site, but in the mean time.

if all fails, i will swap the motherboard.

Here is the big question to all of you out there. there was a YouTube channel out there that claimed that if you take the original Motherboard off the case, it will brick the board. not sure if he was talking about the Newer model, or if it is also applicable on the R10 models. could anyone confirm this?

Would love to revive that tower as i took it all apart "exception of the motherboard", cleaned it all up, more parts are coming for it such as a better cooling fans for the tower as i have heard that the cooling fans on those machines aren't the greatest. thinking on upgrading the cpu to a Ryzen 9 3900X or XT "or if you know of a better one? let me know", more rams and SSD disk as i forgot to mention that the previous owner took all the parts out of the tower like CPU, ram, GPU and storage device. So i am left only with a tower with a bricked motherboard, but the tower is in mint condition.

Hope to hear from all of you.

Thank you

Taking out the motherboard does not brick the motherboard.

There are 2 versions of the R10 motherboard: 1 that ONLY supports Ryzen 3000 CPU's, 1 that ONLY supports Ryzen 5000 CPU's.

BIOS recovery on these board is not that great, so you might not be able to recover from a bad BIOS flash.

It's also possible something else happened to the motherboard and that is why the previous owner got rid of it...

The previous owner never bothered trying to fix it once it was bricked "according to what he said"

on my end, i did replace the Bios Battery as it was dead, did the "Bios CLR" jumper was jumped. Now i am waiting for parts to come in to revive the tower. since it has not CPU nor any Ram, i was wondering what would the greatest CPU for this machine? As i mentioned, i am hoping to upgrade the cpu to a Ryzen 9 3900 X or XT as i am hoping to play Eve online to it's highest settings. but if this mobo can't handle it, i might stick with the Ryzen 7 CPU and not sure which one would be the greatest CPU

Another Motherboard with other parts are also coming for this tower.

CPU support depends on the motherboard revision.
