SATA 6 Gbps or PCIe Gen 3 x4, up to 32 Gbps Interface with one M.2 solid-state drive
Up to 1 TB SATA drive
Up to 1 TB PCIe/NVMe drive

And yes, the Samsung 970 PRO is compatible with the system.

1TB is the maximum officially tested spec on this model.
