Why does the Start Menu keep popping up by it self?

Question

On my Dimension 3000, my Start Menu started to pop up all by it self at random periods.  The computer shows no other problems.  All my security programs check out ok.  I even restored Windows back before this problem showed up.  What could be causing this? Thanks

try to clear the startup and check if the problem persists.
run MS antispyware to make sure that you have no spyware on the computer.
does it happen randomly or is there a defnite time period after which you have this issue.

I discovered the problem. I talked to Dell tech. on the chat line. I found out I had the start key locked down. I released it and the problem went away. I didn't even know that the start key was there. It is located between the Ctrl & alt keys. Thanks anyway.

It's called the Windows Key. Notice the Windows logo on it. It is used as a shortcut key. For instance, Windows key + E brings up Windows Explorer, Win key + F = Find. It's very handy. Look up Windows shortcut keys in Help for more.
