What to do if system is running slow in Windows XP
. Hi all
If your system is running very slow then you may perform these steps..and I hope your system will work fine....
(1)please click start then run and type temp and press enter..A new window appears and delete all the files from this window.
2. click start then run and type prefetch and press enter..A new window appears and delete all the files from this window.
3. please click start then all program then accessories and then system tools and then disk clean up..it will take some time .then a new widow comes up..select view files and delert them and press ok to exit
4. perform MSCONFIG..
1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
2. The Run window appears.
3. Type msconfig in the Open: field and then click
the OK button.
4. Click the radio button for Selective Startup.
5. Click to deselect Process SYSTEM.INI File.
6. Click to deselect Process WIN.INI File.
7. Click to deselect Load Startup Items.
8. Click the Services tab.
The Services pane appears.
9. Click to select Hide All Microsoft Services.
10. Click the Disable All button.
11. Click the OK button.
A restart request window appears.
Also perform these steps..
Click start then and type regedit and press enter
+ h_key _local _ machin
+ system
+ current control set
control
session manager
click on memory management
3rd option - disable paging exe
right click ... modify value to 1.
ok.
