Games problem on laptop

When playing old games such as Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Clive Barker's Undying on my Dell Inspiron 600m laptop, i have found that those games run faster than normal. They run as if they were on fast forward. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'm no tech support for Dell (thankfully)... but I bet your computer isn't running faster, it's going slower - Lagging.  It may be a slight lag and then your game looks like it's in fast forward to catch up to real time with everyone else.

You may have a point. however, my laptop has a 1.5Ghz processor, 512mb of ram and 64mb of video memory. These specs more than exceed the system requirements for those half-a-decade-old games.

But if what u said is true, do u know have to fix it?

What about the internet connection, that could matter more than anything

A google search for 'slow down games' came up with lots of hits. including:

That doesn't make sense to me though, I don't see how having more than what it needs would cause problems with the game.  Also with the games being the type they are i'm assuming you're playing multi-player, the game can't go faster than the other people because you all have to be working in the same time.  I dunno, worth a try though

Actually it goes super fast in single-player for all 3 of those games. And when in multiplayer for Unreal Tournament, it wud still run fast but wud periodically slow to a stop.

Check out the links that guy posted ealier then, I've never heard of that, and my brother's been playing this game from like 1900 (more like 1994 but still, same thing) and never had problems.
