Never used Dell Crash Analysis Tool (DCAT)

But if not already seen click here for the How Do I Use information?

Correct, having more than one AV installed & actively enabled causes major problems

I used to run ZAP Firewall (only) & McAfee AV (only), which worked fine together

Hi--

Thanks for your advice.  I failed to say that I was not running Zone Alarm Pro antivirus, but only the firewall. Still I get this message mentioning both ZAPro and Norton AV.

Can anybody else help me out here?  What does this Dell Crash Analysis tool result mean?

Guess your computer is crashing with BSoD & some Stop error code(s)?

CAT scan reports .sys (System) type files that need driver or application updates?

At least that’s what it says it does?

So presumably Symantec NavEx15.Sys or ZL Vsdatant.Sys or both need updates??

What’s more than likely & it’s not uncommon, one or both are causing a system file driver conflict

What I failed to say :-

I ran licensed (not free) versions of ZAP & McAfee & only once had a problem

ZL updated ZAP engine & it just wouldn’t work with McAfee AV installed

But didn’t cause any PC fatal error problems

Temporary fix was to rollback engine version until ZL provided a fixed engine version

If not already tried a process of elimination?

Work off-line then disable each of the above – one-at-a-time & check if problem recurs

Thanks so much for your help.

You are prescient.  For the first time ever, I got the BSoD.  I also got an appstop.exe error code.  So I'll try updating drivers.  I'll also try disabling NAV and ZAPro one at a time.

I am not familiar with CAT scan reports.  What program is this?
