"Upgrading" from 90 day trial to full version of Norton Internet Security
I purchased an Inpsiron 9100 laptop this past summer and it came with a 90 day trial of NIS. Now, the 90 days is up and I'd like to get the full version. When I go to try to do this, the software asks for my security key, which I don't have, is not printed on the computer case, and the laptop does not include the OEM discs. I would assume that all that is needed from Symantec is a coded authorization downloaded to my computer to "unlock" the remainder of a year, naturally after I pay for the program. Has anyone done this upgrade? Don't tell me I have to uninstall the 90 day trial first, go buy a commercial version in a box, and then reinstall. Everything works fine now as it is currently setup. I should only have to upgrade on-line, but how do I get that **** security code that is requested?

dgerard,
As Yogi Berra said, "this is deja-vu all over again"! I have been going through the very same thing. Forget phone help. You'll die on hold. I had version #'s, part #'s, and account number but no serial number or part number that would allow me to get into the store to renew or upgrade. Only after being extremely persistent did I finally get a code number via email that worked. Use http://symantecstore.com/question. Fill in all appropriate info and someone will contact you the next day. Provide all of the numbers I mentioned above and they will them provide to you the number necessary to get in. It's kind of odd since all you want to do is give them some money to buy one of their products and they make you jump through hoops to get it..........Hope this helps you my friend.

p.s. Since I got into the store, it refers to an upgrade "single user download" vs. a "single user package". Anyone out there know the difference?
