mcafee and system restore

I have mcafee interenet security installed by dell on my new xps. It seems to be working properly however when I tried to do a system restore to solve a different problem, mcafee gets all messed up. It says that it is missing parts of active x and I am unable to enable virus scan. I have solved my other problem without using system restore but am concerned  that I may need it in the future and that means that mcafee will be a problem.  Has anyone else run into this problem and is there a solution to this?

Thanks for your help
Ruth

Goto McAfee help center and search there for your answer.I use to have McAfee but I got rid of it cause of that problem keeps coming back after you fix it (at least for me). I say get rid of it and get yourself either AVG antivirus(free version) and free firewall or just buy Norton internet security.(I  got Norton cause I have used it before and I like it    )

Thanks for your response. I took your advice, uninstalled mcafee and then installed norton internet security. I agree with you,  mcafee is not a good program. I too have used norton before but mcafee came free with this computer. I hope this resolves my issues and i can forget about security and just use my computer as i wish.

I do not know what version you got but you might have to get the new liveupdate program.Go here http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/index_ts.html?src=hho_us and type in search reinstall liveupdate or just click here and save lusetup.exe this should download the new one for you.
