McAfee keeps on quarantining exe file

Hi All,

How can I keep McAfee from quarantining my DVD Copy software exe? This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago. I've had McAfee for almost a year and 1ClickDVDCopy for 2 years.  Here is the location of the file: C:\Program Files\LG Software Innovations\1Click DVD Copy 5\1ClickDvdCopy.exe

How can I keep McAfee from bothering this so I don't have to reinstall 1Click after a McAfee scan. BTW I've tried the restore option and McAfee could not restore. Thanks

"How can I keep McAfee from bothering this so I don't have to reinstall 1Click after a McAfee scan."

Your problem reminds me of the old joke:
- Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this (gestures).
- Doctor: Then don't do that!

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but until this is sorted out I would refrain from running a McAfee scan on demand. There are 2 possibilities; either it is a false positive detection that McAfee will correct in time if you follow Red Dawn's advice, or your DVD software may truly be infected.

I'm not familiar with McAfee or Avert these days, and I don't know how much feedback uploading that file to Avert will give you. But when I get a defensive scanner flagging what I believe to be a legitimate file, I upload it to http://www.virustotal.com/ for analysis by some 36 anti-malware and AV engines. If only McAfee detects it as infection, you can be fairly confident it is a false positive detection, and wait for McAfee to correct this in a future update. However, if other scanners at Virus Total also flag it, I would be concerned I was truly infected, and would need further cleaning.

Finally, one of my concerns with McAfee is its inabilty to "whitelist" a program (remove it from on-demand scanning detection). McAfee is a reputable AV, but it is not among the best commercial AVs, in my opinion.
