virtual media is grayed out
Hello, I am using a Dell IPKVM 2161 DS-2 to remotely manage some servers. I have never been able to figure out how to use the virtual media. When I connect to a client machine under the video session viewer and under tools I see virtual media but it is grayed out. I need to do a clean install of W2K8 R2
Do I need to attached a physical dvd drive to the KVM itself? Or does it have something to do with the sip cables? (I thought I read v1.1 usb versus 2.0 usb)
Thanks
Mitch

Yes, you need the more expensive USB2 (<ADMIN NOTE:Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell>) or CAC (<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell>) modules.
I tried some Avocent AVRIQ-VMC modules which should be the same, but I can't get them to work.
