Security issue after updating to Java 8

I have two KVM 2162DS remote switches, and I cna log into them, however when I click to connect to a server I receive the following message:

Your security setting have blocked an application signed with an expired or not yet valid certificate from running.

This happened after upgrading my Windows 7 machine to Java 8.  I added the URL for the switches to the exception list under the Java control panel, and get the same result.  Any other suggestions?

Zeb,

The file did not work because it was the Analog version of the firmware update. Do not ask me what the difference is but I used their digital version and I was able to upgrade my firmware. That being said, even with the firmware update the problem persist of being unable to open a KVM session with Java 8.

Josh,

Is there a place to download the security certificate and upload it manually into Java?

Zeb,

I found the resolution to the issue. When you go into security settings you need to add the IP or address of the KVM web browsing session "Https://example" and then when you click "KVM session" the error message will pop up, move it out of the way and look at the IP behind it. This IP needs to be added to the exception list as well. For me it didn't start with an "HTTPS" but an "HTTP." I also added the port number which was :80

After all this was done I closed and reopened the browser, everything ran like usual. A security prompt will pop up asking if you really want to do it, then check the box to allow.

Thanks I tried that file, and I get a message saying it is not an acceptable firmware file.  I also tried the firmware file from the Dell download site, and that did not work.  Also on one of the switches I don't even have the option to do an upgrade.

Does it work from a system that is still on Java 7? Are all of your KVMs the same model?

Yes it works with Java 7.  Both switches are 2162DS, however the one without an upgrade option is version 1.16.0, and the one with the upgrade option available is version 1.6.2.  The switch with version 1.16.0 was purchased about a year after the other switch.

Zeb,

I posted this resolution once, but when i attempted to mark it as answer it disappeared so if this ends up being double posted because it needed to go through review I apologize as this is my first time using this system.

I found the resolution for you and I. Open Java security settings and edit the site exception list. Add the IP of the KVM, do not forget the HTTPS (https://192.168.0.1), add the IP again using HTTP and put :80 at the end of it (http://192.168.0.1:80) Close and reopen your browser, it should function correctly.

Thanks.  That worked for me.
