This is a fairly easy fix. download the installer to the desktop. Then right click on the file and tell it to run as administrator. That will install the file.
Hope that helps

My Support Assist is only halfway working. Some of the functions work and some do not. I cannot run the diagnostics from the Dell Support page either because it requires Support Assist. I cannot schedule the automatic hardware checkup, but it will run manually. Optimize my System won't show up to select. The driver check isn't taking place.
I tried to reinstall Support Assist and am having problems. I did save it to my desktop and ran as administrator (several times actually). I uninstalled it and started from scratch again.
Even installing as administrator, I get the following message, "Installation was not completed successfully. You must reboot the system before you may install again."
After I reboot, Support Assist is partially installed but still doesn't work properly.
I am already having problems with my mouse/touchpad (no curser) and a failing graphics driver so I really wanted Support Assist to help me diagnose/fix the problems. Can anyone help?

I tried several times, playing around with installation files and admin privileges. I've been able to install support assist on my laptop (inspron 15 5568, Windows 10) but everytime that I go to www.dell.com/support, the app is not recognized and ask me to install again. It is getting really frustrating.

Same issue here -- downloading to my PC and running as admin doesn't help -- same error.

I was having the same problem. I ended up here: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln300789/dell-support-center-or-my-dell-do-not-work-after-upgrade-to-windows-10?lang=en#Reinstall and selected the Download the latest version link & it worked.

That little blurb at the bottom of your link worked. Thanks for the post...
Install the latest version of Dell SupportAssist
To reinstall Dell SupportAssist, download the lastest version from our support site. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

I'm afraid that this has not worked for me. When I run the resulting aulauncher.exe file, I get a message saying that it is searching for updates, and then a message that no updates are available. I have also followed the advice within SupportAssist to reboot the computer and try again.
This started after an update to SupportAssist was automatically downloaded and (supposedly) installed.
The context of this problem is an Inspiron 13 which I have had since only yesterday. It has run all the Windows updates, the Dell firmware update and the Intel update just fine.

This alternate download provided a program that installed however the Driver Updates page is still unable to find it to do a driver scan. A second install from this link confirmed that there was no updates but the problem remains with the auto-driver update page not working and the support toolbar app not locating updates that have recently been released.

Having the same issue. Dell SupportAssist and Dell SupportAssistAgent are both installed. Dell support site does not recognize that both items are installed and continually forces you to download and install SupportAssist.
When is Dell going to fix this. This has been an issue for several months now.

I have the same problem. I used both installers on both links. First, it says: "We encountered an unexpected error while installing SupportAssist. This may be due to a lost internet connection. Check you connection and try again'. Obviuosely my internet connection is all fine (SupportAssistinstaller.exe).
The other installer (aulauncher) says it is installed but there is no software I can run, neither on the desktop a link, nor in ProgramFiles. This is really annyoing.
I just reinstalled windows 10 two days ago. I don't want to reainstall it again just to get the SupportAssist preinstalled (working but not up to date) version to run. That would be ridicoulos. Plese fix this. Thank you.
