when I attempt to create a project and burn to disc I get an error message. "the disc is not empty or there is no disc in the device". I am using Imation DVD-R 16x 4.7GB discs. Dell Latitude D610. NEC DVD+RW ND-5100A. OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional. Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600. What would prevent me from burning home movies to disc?

Have you tried to use a DVD+R discs in burning your project? Since your using a Dvd+RW drive in your Latitude D610, i suggest to use a Dvd+R disc because they are not interchangable with Dvd-R disc.
