Intel Application Accelerator OR Intel Matrix Storage Manager

Hi guys, my harddisk configuration is as follows: (taken from msinfo - Storage)

Drives- One 140 GB hardisk NFTS formatted, partitioned into two drives C and D

SCSI - SCSI/RAID Host Controller

IDE
Name: Intel 82801FB/FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 266F
Manufacturer: Intel

Name: Primary IDE Channel
Manufacturer: [Standard IDE/ATA ATAPI Controllers]

Name: Intel 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller

My question is whether i should install any Application Accelerators. My Dell Dimonesions CD (as well as the website Drivers section) comes with only Intel Application Accelerator RAID addition, but as far as I can see from the above, I don't have a RAID configuration, no?

Tweakguides Tweaking Companion suggests I use an Intel Application Accelerator for IDE drives or Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

Intel itself http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-015001.htm suggests that for my chipset, Intel 925X Express, that I use either MatrixStorage Technology OR Matrix Storage Manager, but I don't understand which one to use, or whether these are at all compatible with my Dell Dimension 8400!

Please help! Thanks.

Yes a bit confusing,  when you download either one, it is the same exact file, go figure.

I remember installing this in my 8400 a couple years back and it installed Software on my PC for managing Raid arrays, cannot remember if it did anything for single drives.

It will not hurt to install it, and it will give you the latest drivers for your chipset.

Here is the file path it will install the software to

bootdrive>\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager
