Installation for Memorex DVD Recorder
I have a DIM 4400 with Windows XP and SP 2. I have a CD Rom Drive and a CDRW Burner. I also use Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 Basic DVD Home software. I want to replace the CDRW Burner with a Memorex DVD Recorder with Nero 6. Is there any conflict involved. I once tried uninstalling the Roxio program and both CD Rom Drives disappeared. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Tnron,
The disappearing act was an issue related to the Upper & Lower Filters, something we see a lot of. You can actually have both Roxio and Nero installed at the same time. The issue is their Packet Writing programs, Drag to Drop and InCD, they can cause conflicts, so we recommend, if you "must" have a Packet Writing Program, pick one.
As for installation, not set in stone but a good habit, go to Device Manager, select the CD/RW drive, click Uninstall / shutdown. Dell uses Cable Select as the jumper settings, not Master/Slave, so set the jumper on the DVD/Rw to CS, CSEL or cable.
