The administrator, thats me, has full control, ownership and rights of all folders. Its a folder on a secundairy partition(d) called Data. In this map all the users data is stored. All the subfolders have the same problem.
What type of partition is D Drive. It sounds like the OS is not happy with the second partition. Anything in the event log? It is possible the OS thinks the second partition is corrupted and therefore is preventing anyone from writing to it. Have you run a chkdsk or some other disk utility on the second partition?
I think you and I are on a wild goose chase!!! I just looked at one of my servers here, and it does the same thing. The Readonly flag is something I have never looked at or really cared about.
Think I'll just have to install this program on an normal workstation and share it there... It gives me problems with backup, I'll just copy it every night...
Can you install the DOS program on a different computer and then copy the folder over. I am running DOS apps on my W2K and W2K3 server without any problems.

Which folder and does the administrator have ownership of this folder. Is this a Domain controller or a member server.

You mean you inherited this server from someone else? If that is the case, what is the likelyhood if wiping and reinstalling everything?
DO you know how to save the Application log and System log to two separate files and email them to me to take a look?

Thnx for youre help.
I've checked Local Disk (D:) and it gave no problems, nothing at all.
I received this server with this configuration, with these 2 partitions.. So i dont suppose it should give problems right?
I can't find anything in the event log.. but not sure i look right? Where and what should say?
BTW.. I can write to this disk, all users can change there files, even if they are on READ-ONLY... But i can not change the read-only status.
Greetigs
