slow 'Configuring memory...' at boot
My Poweredge T610 has 64GB RAM, with BIOS 6.6.0, running RHEL7.6. On a cold-start the BIOS spends around 34 seconds showing "Configuring memory..." (sole line on screen) before it shows the DELL logo and the BIOS version. My question is whether there is any configuration that I can perform to avoid such a long initial delay?

Hello,
I looked through the BIOS and there are a pair of settings worth looking at. In the BIOS under "Memory Settings," there are options for "System Memory Testing" and "Memory Operating Mode." You might confirm that you're in optimizer mode and try testing with the memory testing disabled to see if that helps any.

It is. As for the memory mode being stuck, the most likely and simplest explanation is the config. Other modes, like Advanced ECC would require memory to be populated in a specific way for the mode to work. As for interleaving and voltage, those settings should be fine. I can't think of anything else to reduce that time span, shy of using less memory, but that's probably not a very good solution.
