Upgrade PowerEdge R520 with Kingston RAM

Hi!

I'd like to upgrade RAM on a Dell PowerEdge R520 with the following modules:

16 GB RDIMM DDR3 1600 MHz Synchronous Registered (Buffered) Multibit ECC

Can anyone give their experience with Kingston RAM in PowerEdge R520?

I've found the following in their shop:
www.kingstonmemoryshop.co.uk/kingston-16gb-ddr3l-pc3-12800-1600mhz-reg-ecc-memory-ram-dimm-71532

Thanks in advance.

I'd like to add that we upgraded the server with 2 x Kingston KTH-PL316LV/16G (2 x 16 GiB DDR3 1600 MHz ECC RDIMM dual rank) 2 month ago. It passed Memtest86+ v. 5.01 and has been working fine since then.

Rpremuzz,

The only listed 16GB 1600 DR dimms officially supported on the R520 are part numbers JDF1M, 20D6F, and 0RTP1. While the dimms you listed look to match the supported dimms identically, it would be based on trial and error to see if they work. As those specific dimms don't appear to be tested, therefor are not officially supported.

Hope this helps.
