Is it possible to have PCI-e x16 link between one GC and C6100 on C410x ?
Hi,
As there is one HIC for 2 graphic cards, each card will have a PCI-e x8 bandwidth link to the server (correct me if I'm wrong).
But if I plug only one graphic card per C6100 server into the C410x, is it possible to get the full PCI-e x16 bandwidth between graphic card and C6100 ?
Or will the link be still only in PCI-e x8 ?
Thanks,
JuL

JuLan,
Both cards will be connected at X16. If only one card is accessing the bus then it gets the full bandwidth, otherwise they are sharing the bandwidth. That is why the C410x is not intended for graphics applications.
HPC applications load the GPU for computational work and get the results after the calulations is complete. So the GPU is not accessing the bus when running the computational job.
I hope this answer your question.
Thanks,
Donald
