IPMI - IPMI System Event Log Check: Fail - What does that mean?
Hello all... I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
I have a Dell 1650 that bluescreened one morning. The message was:
______________
***the system has halted
Please contact your hardware vendor.
____________
So then I ran system diags through Server assistant, and there were no errors. I then ran Dell diags through boot disks, version 5012 I believe. They returned the following errors:
IPMI - IPMI System Event Log Check : Fail
Result Code: 2900-0221
Msg: : Power supply sensor (Power Supply2) A/C lost.

Any idea what this error means? I'm not sure what an IPMI system event log check is, but it sounds to me like this error will keep occurring as long as it exist in whatever log is being checked, even if the hardware is good? Am I off base with that?
If there still is a hardware problem, I'm guessing it lies in the motherboard memory slots, as I have swapped memory and this error keeps occuring (unless of course this error is just stating that an error has happened in the past)
Thanks in advance!
Nathan
PS - This happened 3-4 weeks ago, and there have been no more bluescreens or freezes since
