What is the Difference between perc2/si & 2/dc

We have 2x poweredge 2400 with a disk arrays - each of our servers has two scsi/raid drivers

perc 2/si and 2/dc .. which is which .. who does what?

what /where / why how? please help explain ?

Hi,

The difference between PERC 2/SI and PERC 2/DC is the following one:

Perc 2/SI is an embedded card with a SINGLE channel. You can plug all your disks only on one SCSI channel.

PERC 2/DC is a Additionnal Card with DUAL channels. That means that you can split your hard disk drives beetween two channels. It's interresting for performance with some types of raid like the raid 50. (2xRaid 5 in stripping).
