OptiPlex 7780 - Desktop Window Manager using way too much memory
Optiplex 7780 AIO, just purchased a couple days ago. I have all window updates loaded on Windows 10 OS. I also have all recent/available Dell drivers loaded. Desktop Window Manager goes from using about 30 MB of memory at startup to well over 3 GB (3000 MB) in just a couple of hours. While there is still PLENTY of memory left, this situation can only be "fixed" by restarting the PC.

After the last Windows Update (this morning), I haven't seen the high memory use yet. I will wait a few more days to see if it is actually fixed.

FYI: Windows 10 Desktop Window Manager is the DWM.exe.

Some tips to try. Please let us know if none of those work out or if there's any further questions. I wasn't able to stop on just 1 answer, so I posted the link.

Yes, thanks. So it may be as soon as next Tuesday, the 11th. I usually get those on Wednesdays but it's never certain.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've looked into all that and a Dell rep has been messaging me with things to try also.
Bottom line is I have all Windows 10 updates installed and all Dell updates installed. I am going to wait till the next big Windows 10 update, which is soon I think.
My PC is too new -- I don't want to do much tech-fiddling with ini files and registry.

I can't say for sure what actually fixed the problem but it seems to be the last Windows Update.
