GT 1030 and Optiplex 390

Question

I didn't want to be too descriptive in the title, but My monitor is VGA, but the ports on the GT 1030 are DVI and HDMI. I happened to buy an adapter, but it was the wrong one. And I really don't want to buy another, there is another VGA Port at the back of the computer also. Does that mean I can use that port instead? Can I even use my GT 1030 using that port?Thank you, Y e s

You cannot use an adapter since vga is analog and dvi/hdmi are digital and you cannot use the vga port on the computer unless you remove the video card. That's completely, physically remove the card and leave it out. The only other option is to buy a new monitor with hdmi and/or dvi connections. Vga is old school now. If you don't want to buy a $100 monitor, remove the card and use the vga port until you can buy a new monitor.
