What are Microsoft Terminal Services & Web Client Network?

These components appear in my network tree in windows explorer on one computer but not the other. If they are not running in 'services' and fast user switching is disabled, why are they there?

These two items are normally hidden. If you wish to toggle your folder view to hide these icons again, click Tools | Folder Options | View. De-select Show Hidden Files and Folders, and apply the changes. Only Microsoft Windows Network should be listed at this point.

You can safely turn these services off if you don't need them and you have administrative rights on the PC.

Click START | RUN, and in the Open field type SERVICES.MSC. Locate the two following services:

WebClient
TelNet

You may disable these or set them to Manual and click Stop.

Cody- thank you. I didn't know that these were hidden items, and forgot that I had set hidden items to show. WebClient and TelNet are disabled, which is why I was surprized to see them.
