No Wireless Network Connection icon on my computer.
This is a Dell Dimension 2400 model that I bought in 2004. When I click my Network Connections Folder, under the Lan or High-Speed Internet section, there should be a Wireless Connection icon (with the computer screen showing signal lines) but all that is there is my built in Broadcom card under the name Local Area Connection. I know that there should be a Wireless connection icon because I also have a Dell Notebook and it is there, but no sign of it on my Desktop.
In my control Panel folder, there is a program called Wireless Network Setup Wizard, but it is no help.
I have a Linksys USB wireless network adapter and it isn't working, and my guess is because I can't even get a Wireless Connection status check. Are there any drivers I could download to get my wireless network connection to start working?

I've already tried to get help for the USB driver problem on another site, but no solution yet:

As for the problem I get when I try to install the lastest driver I downloaded from the linksys website: When I go in the drivers folder click the setup icon, which should install it, a purple box quickly pops up and then disapeares; the program looks like it's starting up, but then it closes. I thoght it was just my computer doing that, so I tryed to install the same driver onto my dell laptop and the same thing happens. I email'd Linksys about this and they say the driver loads fine for them, so I don't know what the problem could be.
