Missing NIC card or driver? No LAN network adapter?

Hi.  I have a Dell dimension 4550 with another computer's harddrive installed.  Everything else is the same.  I do not see my LAN at all. I have limited tech knowledge but wanna learn lots.  pls help!  Also please note that under ipconfig (under cmd) it shows nothing.

I went to the drivers and download page and found Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet is this the right item to download?  will it fix the issue?

thanks

IF you are using a hard drive from a different computer, then it is likely that the drivers for computer are not installed.  Most importantly you would have to install the chipset drivers first, because they control how Windows detects and installs drivers for all devices connected to the motherboard.  Without the chipset drivers for the computer on which the drive is now installed, it will be impossible to install other drivers.

Please tell me, step by step, and the exact names of what to install. This is all brand new to me.  thanks  I'm downloading the Intel driver that applies to the chipset software installation utility

from this site http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_4550&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

I'm about to restart my computer now, i just finished downloading it.  what do i install next?

I'm also thinking about connecting another computer i have (the video card, I assume, is not working) to the broadband and just sending the signal to the dell computer via wireless.  what do u think? thanks

Hi

The drivers should be installed in the same order in which they are listed here.
