Belkin Wireless software - MPRAPI.DLL not found
PC: Inspiron 8000 OS: Windows Me
I just got a Belkin WirelessG Network Card (Part#F5D7010 - PCMCIA). The card seems to work, but the configuration software that comes with it won't start. I get the error message:
A required .DLL file, MPRAPI.DLL, was not found.
Isn't that a WindowsNT DLL? I called Belkin tech support and she said the software runs on WindowsME and none of their other customers have that problem. But I can't find that DLL file on the WinME re-installation CD that came with my Inspiron. I also tried the Microsoft website and the Dell Tech Support website and neither of them will let me download the DLL as far as I can tell. Am I doing something wrong or did Belkin lie? Any insight you can share would be greatly appreciated. ... I'm a little leery about downloading the DLL from a 3rd party website (Will it contain a virus, etc...?); and I'm not even sure that DLL belongs in WindowsME.
