Unable to detect JavaTM Runtime Environment
fresh installation of networker 9.x
when trying to launch the GUI ( http:server:9000 )
I get the following error message :
"Warning: unable to detect java runtime environment.
ATTENTION: 32-bit web browsers require a 32-bit JRE and 64-bit web browsers require a 64-bit JRE.
A supported version of JavaTM Runtime Environment (JRETM) cannot be detected by this web browser. The JRE must be installed in order to run NetWorker Management Console. However, if you already installed required JRE version, click here to start NetWorker Management Console.
Installing JRE on a Windows Computer
1. Download JRE. Click here to see list of supported platforms, web browsers, and corresponding JRE versions.
2. Follow detailed installation instructions published on Oracle's Java download page for a required platform.
3. Restart your browser and point to NMC URL to start the product.
Click here for Chrome and Firefox details.
..."
I followed the suggestions offered in that page ( both for firefox and Chrome ) ..
but does not work ...

Enabling Java Plug-in in Chrome v.42 or later
1. In the URL bar, enter:
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
2. Click the Enable link for Enable NPAPI configuration option
3. Click the Relaunch button at the bottom of the Configuration page
If you see a message "JavaTM was blocked because it is out of date", click on Update plug-in in the Chrome message bar to get the latest JRE.
If in the process of starting NMC you are asked to save the file, do the following:
1. Save the file
2. In Chrome, click the drop down arrow next to the finished download, select "Always open files of this type"
Enabling Java Plug-in in Firefox
Current versions of Firefox browser are 32-bit only and require 32-bit version of JRE. On 64-bit Windows, if only 64-bit version of JRE is installed, the Java plug-in will not be available. In this case 32-bit version of JRE has to be installed. If in the process of starting NMC you are asked to save the file, do the following:
1. Select "Open with", and in the drop-down select "Other..."
2. Navigate to JavaTM Web Start Launcher, and click OK
3. Check "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" option
"
here is my java version :
any idea how to resolve the issue ?
thanks in advance

Have a look at the Java pathname - it may not be correct, especially if it includes the JRE version number.
Run the command "set" and search the"JAVA_HOME" variable to verify this variable.
- change it, if necessary
- restart the system so that the services will run using the correct account
That should do the job.

I have seen this recently when my company updated java However, if you click on that "here" link it will load it. It also depends if you run 32bit or 64bit version of IE and which version of java you have installed.
