Would dell replace my lcd if there are dead pixels

I have a LCD monitor that is still looking good (no dead pixels). I just hope to know if one or more dead pixels appear on my LCD, would dell replace my LCD with a new one? I have a 3-year warranty.

As far as I know, this is Dell's fixed (dead) pixel "policy"<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell> Its 2 yrs old and I don't believe its been updated. Basically, 5 or less fixed pixels is considered within industry standards and acceptable. If you have 6 or more or several grouped on your screen, you are asked to contact tech support. No where does it say Dell will replace the monitor. Apparently, it is up to Dell and how loudly you complain.

Tom

I have never heard of pixels going dead. Dead pixels is a fabrication problem. If the monitor has no dead pixels originally, it won't have any in the future. Typical failure modes are dead rows of pixels and burned out backlights. These are covered by the warranty. If a new monitor has bad pixels, I recommend returning it within 30 days under the satisfaction guarentee. Go through Customer Care, not technical support.
