P2419H, Xbox, sound?
Dear Sir/Madam,
We have a Dell P2419H monitor and was wondering if this works with an Xbox if connected via HDMI? Will there be sound through the P2419H?
If someone could get back to me and advise.

@biscuit2k You won’t get audio. The P2419H doesn’t have built-in speakers or a 3.5 mm audio output jack. The only other way to get audio would be with a USB-based sound bar, but that requires the source device to support USB Audio, and the Xbox does not as of this writing. The display will not accept audio via HDMI and output it to a USB sound bar.

Thanks for getting back to me understood.
Any recommendations on models of monitors im after something similiar to the P2419H but with built in speakers and compatible to use with an xbox or even go down the sound bar route.

@biscuit2k Yes, the S Series displays are more likely to have built-in speakers since they’re consumer-oriented rather than business-oriented like the P and U Series. I personally would recommend a soundbar instead, which you could use if got a U Series display and a sound bar that had a 3.5 mm AUX input, simply because a sound bar might perform better than built-in speakers, but I don’t follow displays with built-in speakers closely, so I can’t give you a lot of guidance there.
