E2420H, DP connection issue

Hi,

I've bought the E2420H and I would like to share it from a couple of laptops. Not simultaneously, just to find a common setup.

Laptops, both with under Windows10: 

• E2420H video in ports = DP/VGA
• Lenovo T470s video out ports = HDMI/TB3
• Dell Inspiron 15 7559 video out port = HDMI

My first though was to buy a HDMI to DP converter, but the monitor can't detect any signal. From the forums, I understand that HDMI can't upconvert to a monitor DP.

So it seems that a common solution is to buy an HDMI to VGA converter, isn't it? But it means lose quality.

On the other hand a TB3 to DP cable could work.

Is there any HDMI to DP upscaling solution that could help me? Please could you include a reference to the required adapted.
