New HP LaserJet P1006 Printer won't print from Ubuntu
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that came with Ubuntu. I have been using a HP LaserJet 1012 printer on it which printed with no problems. The 1012 just fizzled on me. It was over four years old. I just purchased a new HP LaserJet P1006 printer which runs fine on my Dell/XP Laptop. However, I can not get it to respond to the Dell 1525/Ubuntu laptop. Ubuntu recognizes that there is a HP LaserJet P1006 connected to it and I have the P1006 set as the default printer but I get zero response when I send a print order to it. Any ideas?

Bob,
Even though Ubuntu is recognizing your printer you may not have the latest HP drivers. You can get them from the following link along with the instruction for installing the driver.
