I have installed Linux 64 bit on Studio 1555, can i install the ATI Mobility Radeaon HD 4570 VGA card as well?
I have got a Studio 1555 with VGA card of ATI Mobility Radeaon HD 4570, and i have installed a Linux 64 bit on this laptop, can you guide me how i can install my VGA drivers?

Well,
Download ATI drivers from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.39&lang=English link and don’t forget to read Installer Instructions in the same page mentioned. Guide also show how to install in Red Hat Linux and remember to go through the minimum system requirement (Kernel, Xorg).
The above mentioned link downloads ATI Radeon HD 4550 series which could be clouser to our GPU.

Obviously, I 2 've Studio 1555 and 've sucessfully installed Ubuntu 8.10 with ATI drivers.
In Ubuntu 9.04 (Latest Verstion) ATI drivers are installed with OS but have some problem with Pulse Audio. But for before version you need to download ATI drivers from AMD website and need to configure your ATI CCC. You need to select the correct package with 64 bit drivers.
Configuration steps inclue: changes in Xorg.conf file and need to specify that you are using LCD.
Just Google it u ll come to know everything. After installing ATI drivers Linux looks amazing with Crystal clear clarity... --- I m sure u feel enjoying with Linux.

I have found Envy NG to be the easiest and surefire way to install Linux video drivers. Some ATI drivers will test better on native Linux drivers, and Envy figues this out and reports back to you.
If it indeed finds a video card which can support a specialized driver, it also updates that after a simple yes/no message, and satisfies all dependencies.
My experience with Envy has all been positive, I would highly recommend it for ATI driver installs.
