Hi Try this, it worked for my wifes 5505 after Dell tech had tried and failed.

Go to 'Device Manager' and find your network adapter. Open the Properties dialog and select the 'Power Management' tab. Uncheck the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' check box, then click OK. You will probably need to reboot.

It's seem that the problem occur not only in DELL laptop but also in many devices. Maybe the root cause is Windows 11 OS.

Same problem here with 5405 after upgrading to Windows 11.

If I close the lid to get it to sleep, wait a few mins, then re-open lid - it takes several seconds to start, mostly on a black screen with the Dell logo, as if it is coming out of hibernation or an error state. The wifi adaptor is then missing and no amount of fiddling with settings or device manager or windows troubleshooting will bring it back. Hitting Restart does not work either.

The only solution is to hit Shutdown instead, then turn back on. Now it finds the wifi adaptor OK and the wifi runs fine.

Temporary solution is to set: Closing lid = Shutdown, not sleep.

Although, sleep did seem to work if I did it manually, via the Shutdown menu.

I have tried to workaround: Reset current Power Plan. After reset the "Balance (Recommened)" to the default parameters, the wake-up (from Sleep state) function in my Inspiron 5570 works well.

Beside, let's update all drivers to the lastest version from DELL support website.

Hope this work to you guys.

Same for me also.

Dell Inspiron 15 5505. Was working fine on Win 10, but the update to Win 11 has caused this issue.

I see this behavior also on my Inspiron 5405 - even after reset of the UEFI to the optimal values and a new Win 11 Home installation.

My Inspiron uses the 1.7 BIOS and the latest updates as recommended by Microsoft Windows and Dell Support Assistant (date 2022-May-04). Hardware: AMD Epyc 4500U, Qualcomm QCA61x4A, 8GB memory, 256GB SSD.

In the event viewer I can see that the system was not shut down properly after going to sleep

Event viewer:

1) ->Windows Logs->System, Event ID 41, The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly

2) ->Applications and Services Logs->Microsoft->Windows->Kernel Boot, Event ID 158, Error: BL_LOG_ERROR_RES_HW_SIGNATURE_MISMATCH: Failed to resume due to hardware configuration changed. Status: {Incorrect Volume}. The target file of a rename request is located on a different device than the source of the rename request.

Indeed when I wait for a short moment, I will see the system going to sleep and some minutes later it will reboot.

I made the changes regarding the power management as reported by HydraSystems (2022-March-15) without success.

Does anybody see similar entries in the event viewer?

So - a reinstallation of the BIOS version 1.7 and the Qualcomm drivers from the Dell support page (with kind support from the Dell community support team) did not change the behavior of the system. Still restarting after some minutes of sleep. Now I will reinstall Windows 10 Home, install all the recommended drivers and see if the system 'sleeps' the way I do expect.

Regarding issue 2, opened windows close because the laptop crashes while on sleep mode. This is an ongoing and unfixed issue. See my thread about it:

I had installed Windows 10 Home with all Windows updates, the Dell SupportAssist recommended drivers until Thursday, May 7th, but the system still crashed during sleep. Besides the SupportAssist the only additional software was the process monitor from systernal tools.

New setup with Windows 11 Home, all Windows updates and the newest drivers from Dell Support page (this time I didn't use Dell SupportAssist to prevent errors from its optimization steps). And again - the system falls asleep, wakes up by itself and crashes. WLAN isn't available after this crash. I had to shut down the system to reenable it. A "restart" didn't work for this.

I removed the latest Qualcomm driver and didn't experience an issue yet.

In the device manger I see version 12.0.0.953, from Qualcomm Communications Inc., release date 6.14.2020 for the Qualcomm QCA61x4A 802.11ac Wireless Adapter and for the Qualcomm QCA61x4A Bluetooth it's version 10.0.0.1118 from Qualcomm, release date 5.19.2021.
