Studio 1737 - considering upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit?
I have a Studio 1737 laptop and I'm considering upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit. Currently I'm at 2 GB RAM T5800 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz
I want to upgrade my RAM, but I can only upgrade to 4GB with 32-bit. I'm just wondering if it would be worth it for me to upgrade to 64-bit and 8GB RAM. I'm concerned that some of my programs won't run correctly with 64-bit - I think I read that on someone else's post as a problem they ran into after going from 32-bit to 64-bit.
My computer will be used for video/photo editing (Premiere, After Effects & Photoshop CS4) and currently it's way to slow to handle this.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Your system can't take 8G of RAM - 4G is the max.
You're likely to find that 64-bit WIndows -- with its larger footprint - leaves you with less free memory than 32-bit -- even though it will use all 4G, which 32-bit can't.

I would definitely do the upgrade. I hear that 32-bit limits you and with the 64-bit you should be able to upgrade to 8GB RAM. I hope that by the time you read this I'm sure you've already done the upgrade. If so, please post results. :emotion-1:
