Hi chukwudi,

It is unfortunate that the computer is not turning on. Request you to follow the below steps:

(1) Turn off the computer.

(2) Remove all the external peripherals like AC Adaptor, battery, flash drives, etc.

(3) Press and hold the power button for 30sec, it releases the static on the computer (if any).

(4) Now put the battery back and plug back the charger.

(5) Let the computer charge for some time.

Try turning on the computer and check If the issue still exists. If yes then request you to make the following observations:

(1) Are there any series of beep codes heard from the computer?

(2) Are there any light indicators on the computer? If yes do let me know where it appears.

(3) Is there any light indicator on the power button?

Do reply with your answers.

It is a series of beeps heard from the computer and the light indicators are on - the battery light and computer light. There is no light indicator on the power button.  This is the first time this has happened.  Please email me and let me know what to do.  Right now I have it plugged in and charging.

Hi cdr68,

Appreciate your observations. The computer might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the LCD cannot display errors or problems. These repetitive beep codes help us to troubleshoot problems with this computer. Request you to check what series of beeps you hear from the computer.

Hi melly3,

I am sorry about the situation; The 7 beep code indicates that there is a processor/motherboard failure. Try releasing the static power and check the system is working. Follow the steps below.

Switch off the system; remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess static power. In case the issue persists please send me the system service tag or express service code through this private chat, I will see what best can be done.

Please refer to the link below where to locate the service tag or express service code.
