how to connect to a projector
What do I have to do to connect an inspiron 17 5000 series computer to a projector?Assume I know nothing. thanks. I have to give a presentation on tuesday, 28 April using an unknown projector provided at the venue.

Possibly - look on the keyboard -- it's usually FN-F7 or FN-F8 (key marked with a monitor icon).

If the projector is newer, it likely has an HDMI input -- a cable such as this will be what you need:

If the projector is older, you will need an active HDMI to VGA cable such as
<<www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_2;ie=UTF8&qid=1430165493&sr=1-2&keywords=HDMI+to+VGA>>
you'll also need a VGA cable for the second option:

Check to see what the projector has for inputs.
