Which has higher processing speed ?

CPU processing power has nothing to do with the FBS (Front bus speed).

2 GHz is faster than 1.86 Ghz.

The frontside bus does have a lot to do with the overall CPU throughput. I would guess a 2.0/400 and a 1.86/533 would be very similar overall.

I know this math doesn't work precisely, but this is just something to think about:

from a 1.86 to a 2.0 = 7.5% increase in clock speed.
from a 400 to a 533 bus = 33% increase in clock speed.

All that, plus the 533 bus means it's an Intel Sonoma chipset (2nd generation Centrino), which has a bunch of other improvements BEYOND the increase in bus speed over the original Centrino chipset, which is in the 400 Mhz bus model you're looking at.

In other words, don't fall victim to the Intel marketing line that CPU speed is everything. Go with the inspiron 6000.

I would suggest the 6000 also. It is newer and will have more advanced technology. I was wondering, does the 510m have the Pentium M or the Pentium 4?
