Touchpad replacing Trackpad in Laptops
Dell,
Touchpad replacing Trackpad in Laptops
Users of the laptops are feeling difficult to use the touchscreen facility in the recent laptops, because the screen is perpendicular to the hand and fingers. In most of the laptops, the trackpad and the area left and right of it are vacant. This area can be used as touchpad replacing trackpad, as shown in the following figures. This new touchpad is parallel to the hand and so easy to write, scribble, select, swipe and do digital signatures.
The touchpad can be enabled to function as trackpad using special key combination(s). Many app and program icons can be displayed on this touchpad similar to those in tablets and smartphones.
Additional modifications can be included in this idea to make this feature very useful in laptops, desktops, All in one computers.
Reference:
The Touch Bar on MacBook Pro.
This Touch Bar on MacBook Pro is very small, difficult to view and difficult to reach by fingers for digital signatures and other actions as mentioned in the following weblink.

Just about anyone wanting this functionality will want a tablet -- with a digitizing screen. Intriguing idea, but it has no market.

Then there will only be tablet in the market and no market for laptops with value added features.

There are tablets, notebooks and hybrids - the hybrids handle both features with compromises in design. There is indeed no room for a notebook with a digitizing pad -- it's even more of a compromise than a tablet- notebook hybrid.

This year Lenovo has introduced a laptop with a digitizing pad called Lenovo Yoga Book.
But there is no physical keyboard on it for error free typing.
If you are not aware of it, the following are information :
Lenovo Yoga Book with digitizing pad ( weblink)

This is a hybrid with more than the usual hybrid compromises - the reviews prove exactly my point.

How does it matter hybrid or laptop or notebook etc, only the value added feature is important and in question.
Your post ' ejn63 on 13 Dec 2016 8:05' clearly states there is no room for a notebook with digitizing pad.
But lenovo has produced the notebook with a type of digitizing pad and people are using it in the world
Person 'ejn63' point is proved wrong.
I do not know the reason why you 'ejn63' unnecessarily dragging this conversation.
Is there a moderator to edit these dragging posts?
The functionality of Dell websites are not convincing. Dell Ideastrom website is not functioning and now here again problem for a person like me who suggests useful ideas for computing products.
If this idea is not useful, why this idea is not visible in the General Hardware forum??
General people can appreciate any idea and improve on the existing ideas if they are in the forum.
