Options when closing your lid

Is there anyway to have my computer goto my login screen without using standby when I close my lid on my laptop (600m with WinXP home).

PS.  I don't wanna use my screen saver, or standby to achieve this

set the screensaver for a shorter delay. However there is no way to get the logon screen to appear when you shut the screen. U could press ctrl +alt + del once and press lock computer, thats does the same but without the screensaver.

Hit the Windows + L keys together to lock your computer, it's faster than CTRL+ALT+DEL and click lock.

Works for XP, haven't tried it on 2K.  I think it worked for 98 as well.
