Mouse keypad not working properly

The touchpad on my Studio 1749 is erratic - it zooms in and out or scrolls when all I am doing is moving the cursor around the screen. I have updated drivers recently and run Dell Detect. Open to suggestions as it is frustrating!

Thanks

Has any water come in contact with the touch pad or has had the opportunity to get underneath the touchpad? I was having those issues with my XPS L502X and it was due to water getting underneath the touchpad. I ended up having to replace the touchpad to resolve the issues. I assume since you have tried updating drivers you have tried updating BIOS as well? If you have not tried updating BIOS I would recommend doing so.

Thanks for the response.

I don't think water is an issue as it has been going on for months, but I will have a look.  I've updated the BIOS too recently and run Dell Detect.

Sounds like a touchpad replacement may be required. Parts-people.com has a palm rest with the touchpad that you could purchase and replace.
