Latitude D420 - upgraded to Windows 7 professional - SD Card reader now not functional
The machine runs great - except that the SD Card reader is non functional. Have upgrded the driver via the Dell website using the service tag as the driver locator, but still no joy.
Advice about how to get the SD Card Reader functional for Win 7 Pro would be appreciated.

I have a Dell D420 running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. The SD card reader works on mine, but note that I only use MicroSD cards along with an SD adapter. I installed Windows 7 on the D420 last year. I don't remember the exact steps that I used but I normally do a fresh OS install and then run MS updates and then determine what other drivers are needed. I just checked the driver for my SD Reader and it shows a standard Microsoft Driver, version 6.1.7600.16385, dated 6-21-2006.
Let me know if you want any other info about my laptop (device manager listings, other installed drivers, hardware specs, etc).
