Latitude C840 USB boot
Hi everybody, I was asking myself how to boot from a USB port (in my case external USB DVD...my CD-rom is gone...:smileysad:)...I tried to go looking in the bios but I haven't found the choice to boot from those kind of devices...any idea? Thanx

The NO was that model can not boot from USB at all, Flash drive, floppy or CD, or any other USB device.
CD-ROM drives are cheap. From $20+ for a CD-ROM to about $100 for a Dual Layer DVD-RW/CD-RW drive. Any Slimline type drive will work in your notebook. The only thing that won't look right is the drive face plate bezel. But considering the age of the notebook and the fact that the drive installed now doesn't work who cares.
