Laptop Keyboard No Longer Working

My Dell Laptop keyboard no longer responds (yes, I am using a different computer to write this message.)  It stopped in the middle of trying to complete an item to sell on eBay.  Doesn't work in Word or Excel either.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver.  Still didn't work.  I ran antimalware software.  Nothing found.

Can't run any of the diagnostics on the Dell website as I don't have it bookmarked.

The mouse functions still work.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Use the below link to reseat your keyboard cables. If this does not work, then send me a Private Message, by clicking on my user name, add me as a friend, and send me your Service Tag, phone number and address.

Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Please mention your system model, when posting on the forum. Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo to see if it will allow you to enter the Bios. If it loads the Bios, that means the keyboard is working outside the operating system, so no issues with the keyboard. If it does not load into the Bios, then you will need to reseat your keyboard, for help on that log on to support.dell.com, click on home users, click on manuals on the left side, select your system model or enter your service tag to find the manual for your system, use the Service Manual to reseat the keyboard.

Thank you

Thank you for this answer.  It is a Dell Inspiron 1764.  My Rapid Response warranty is still in effect.  Should I contact Dell before opening my laptop up?

Same problem with me and until now, I've been using a different keyboard as I haven't found the right solution to this problem.
