Hi,

It sounds like you need a new keyboard. There may be an issue with the S key, and it is too sensative, so vibration typing near it causes it to come up. See how far you have to press it compared to the other keys. It could also have something jammed part way under, so give it a brush. What Inspiron do you have ?

You can try the steps mentioned below:

Remove Flea power from the system.

Disconnect the power cable, wait at least five (5) seconds to discharge any remaining 'flea' power, plug the power cord back in, and then turn it on again.

Flash the BIOS:
Flash/ Upgrade the BIOS. Please refer to the link below to update the BIOS:

Did you have any luck calling Dell?

My 9100 has started doing the same problem again, and it is also about 4 months old (maybe a dodgey batch of keyboards!).

Do you happen to use MSN messenger mate?

Hi,

If you want to discharge the Flea power, the correct way is remove the adapter cable, remove the battery and hold down the power button for at least 5 seconds. Removing the adapter cable only will stop your battery charging.

I dont see how removing the flea power or flashing the bios will fix an obvious hardware fault. Personally, i wouldnt even bother attempting these steps. Just contact Dell for a KB replacement.
