INSPIRON M5030 not loading beyond Windows Start Logo...
Our Inspiron M5030 was given to us last September, by a friend of my husband, whom he works with. This laptop was used by the purchaser no further than to start it up, place his password on it, then put it back into the box. He never even ran updates of any sort. He literally handed us an un-used computer.
Within a few months of the kids using the laptop it began having issues. It would not start, doing what it is now, but with a fresh install of everything (saving a backup to desktop), I was finally able to get it up an running again.
I do not know if it is due to my boys gaming (Minecraft) on it, but the laptop has repeated itself, but this time I am unable to get it working again.
I did create a Repair Disc, and attempted several times to create a full backup, but the backup would quit before completion. I have disc's 1 and 2 only...
I suspect the issue is with the hard drive and it needs to be replaced, and I should mention the fan is also not working for some odd reason? My biggest issue beyond repairing everything is how do I get my hands on the Windows Install that I was unable to fully copy?
Is this even worth repairing?
Any advice would be so appreciated.
Thank You in advance, and God bless you!

Hi Livingston55,
I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.
In addition, I would suggest that you run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned in the video below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.

Please let me know the findings.
